Snooker was devised in India by Sir Neville Chamberlain who experimented on his billiard table to finally devise Snooker.
World Snooker is the body that deals with and arranges the professional circuit which includes the major ranking tournaments such as the World Snooker Championship and the UK Championship. The regulatory body that then deals with the rules for both snooker and billiards is the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association.

So this tournament is very tight and long odds are not the order of the day. The matches are best of 11 frames except for the final which is best of 19.
There are numerous tournaments held throughout the year around the globe and these include the Wuxi Classic, Australian Goldfields Open, Shanghai Masters, German Masters, Welsh Open, China Open and the World Championships. These are all ranking events and as such there will be ante post betting available with the leading bookmakers.
